As the first night of the festival approached midnight, a beaming festival director Gunnar Karlsson confirmed Thursday's free event was a resounding success with the public.
– We estimate the visitor count surpassed 5,000 people, nearly double last year's turnout, Karlsson said with satisfaction.
The vibrant atmosphere was infectious, with festival-goers of all ages soaking up the sunshine, music, and drinks. Skellefteå residents Mona and Sören couldn't hide their delight.
– The whole town comes alive during this event, they said, their smiles mirroring the bright Västerbotten night.

– Ticket sales are currently stronger for Friday compared to Saturday, likely due to the performances of Molly Sandén and Hooja. However, earlier purchases at potentially lower price points might also be a factor. This makes it difficult to predict last-minute sales and sales at the festival entrance, despite the higher price tag. Despite the uncertainty, I have a strong feeling that Summertime 2024 will be a fantastic success!
