Construction has begun on 20 new townhouses in Skellefteå. More than half of them have already been sold, making the groundbreaking possible.

Riksbyggen is developing the housing in partnership with Contractor. The project is located at Getberget, where the former Getberg School stood. Following the construction of some Skebo rental apartments, the area will now be completed with 20 townhouses along Humlegatan.

The homes were released for sale this summer, and 11 have been sold so far. One buyer is Evelina Lundgren, who lives with her family in a house outside the city. She's excited about customizing the layout and interior design and appreciates the proximity to preschool, school, and her workplace.

The groundbreaking ceremony was carried out by Kurt Nyström from Contractor, Evelina Lundgren, a buyer, Lorents Burman, mayor, and Ulrika Nyström from Riksbyggen.

Evelina participated in the groundbreaking ceremony, along with representatives from Riksbyggen, Contractor, and the municipality.

One potential downside of the location is the proximity to Skebo's new apartments, especially to the south.

– It's helpful that those buildings are already up, as it gives our customers a better idea of the final result, says Jenny Elveljung, sales and marketing manager of Riksbyggen.

The townhouses are priced between approximately three and 3.5 million kronor, depending on location, with estimated monthly costs of 5,500 kronor. Move-in is expected around the end of 2025 or the beginning of 2026, roughly a year from now.
