"One Evening - One Country" was started last year to introduce people who recently moved to Skellefteå from other countries. Last week, the focus was on Thailand.
The presentation was fascinating and taught us about the rich history and traditions of this south-east Asian country. Did you know that Thailand, with a population of nearly 72 million people, is known as the "Land of Smiles," for its warm and welcoming people?
The country is also home to the world's largest teak forest, covering approximately 1.2 million acres, and has a whopping sixty-two 'domestic' languages.
Local Swedes joined in and enjoyed learning new things, meeting new people, and trying Thai food. Norran took pictures of the event, which you can see below. We may have also sampled the cuisine!
