Skellefteå AIK got off to a flying start when Leksand visited Skellefteå Kraft Arena on Thursday evening. Despite Arvid Lundberg – who announced before the game that he was extending his contract with the club until 2028 – being in the penalty box, Pär Lindholm gave AIK an early lead.
Before the first period was even halfway over, Jonathan Pudas doubled AIK's advantage. Leksand responded quickly with Marcus Karlberg scoring a goal, but they were unable to capitalize on a penalty and were punished when Jonathan Johnson restored AIK's two-goal lead.
Leksand pushed hard, creating several chances that tested Lindvall, but AIK continued to score. Anton Heikkinen set up a shot opportunity on the right side after Oscar Lindberg advanced the play, and this time, it resulted in a 4–1 lead.
Leksand managed to score another goal before the end of the second period, but Rickard Hugg quickly extinguished any momentum they had gained by scoring early in the third. Pontus Johansson added another goal to secure AIK's victory. Although Leksand scored a late goal, AIK comfortably won the match.
