One Evening - One Continent: Africa

Skellefteå is home to people from all over the world, and to foster connections, the event "One Evening - One Country" was launched in 2023. This week, the focus shifted to a continent for the first time with "One Evening - One Continent: Africa."
The African countries represented were South Africa, Nigeria and Egypt.
Amid the turmoil of Northvolt's recent lay-offs, one attendee summed it up:
– There's not a lot we can do about what's happening, so we may as well have some fun anyway.

The "One Evening - One Country" program, organised by Welcome House Skellefteå, Expats & Friends and Medborgskolan, began in late 2023 with a focus on India.

This week, A.G entertained the audience with a game of Kahoot! Everyone registered on their mobile phones and were able to play against each other answering general knowledge questions about Africa. The evening was filled with vibrant cultural exchanges, music, dancing, food, and fun, bringing together both long-time residents and newcomers.

There were also comments about the current crisis at Northvolt.

–Even though things are difficult, we know our company's strength comes from our people and our ideas. We'll learn from the past and create new opportunities. We're hopeful for the future, and this will help us grow, said Enimobong Edoho.

Another participant said:

Norran English was, as usual, present to capture the event in photos and, of course, to sample the cuisine!

And there are more than 30 photos!
