Seven cars were involved in a pile-up on the E4 near Sävar outside Umeå on Friday morning, bringing southbound traffic to a complete standstill.
The accident occurred around 11:00 AM, involving seven vehicles. The number of people involved is currently unknown.
– It's quite a chaotic situation, said Filip Ek, alarm and control operator at Rescue Center Nord.
Emergency services, including ambulances, are currently on the scene. Snowfall in the coastal region is creating challenging road conditions.
– We're working to clear the road and remove the vehicles, said Ek.
– Reindeer have also been spotted on the road, adding to the difficulties. However, we don't believe anyone is trapped or in immediate danger.
