SMHI's 10-day forecast predicts sunshine and potentially scorching temperatures towards the weekend.
– High-pressure weather is expected in the coming days, explains Rosengren.
– Expect mostly sunny skies and warm air.
Friday looks set to be the hottest day, with highs reaching 25 to 27 degrees Celsius.
– The models are hinting at very high temperatures around Skellefteå on Friday. While it's uncertain if it'll hit exactly 27 degrees, 25 degrees is a near certainty.
Västerbotten County, including Skellefteå's coastal areas, is expected to be the hottest region in Sweden on Friday, experiencing a taste of midsummer warmth.
But how long will this summery spell last?
– There will be a slight setback after the weekend, warns Rosengren.
– Cool air will start moving in from the west as early as Sunday. Skellefteå residents will likely feel it most on Monday.
Monday and Tuesday are forecast to see daytime temperatures drop to a range of 5 to 10 degrees Celsius.
– The good news is, the cooler weather won't last long. By Wednesday and Thursday, temperatures are expected to climb back up to 10 to 15 degrees during the day.
