The man, in his 20s and from the Umeå area, had been sought by police for several weeks, and on January 27, he was arrested in absentia.
Documents from Skellefteå District Court indicate that prosecutors and police suspect him of handling fragmentation grenades in Skellefteå, allegedly intended for bombings targeting a car and a restaurant in Umeå.
On Wednesday, he was arrested at Arlanda, as reported by SVT Nyheter Västerbotten. According to SVT, Thai police escorted him from Thailand, whereafter Swedish police took custody at Arlanda.
– It feels fantastic that we were able to get hold of him so easily, says Thomas Palmgren, head of intelligence at the Västerbotten police, to SVT.
Following the arrest, a new detention hearing was held at Skellefteå District Court on Friday afternoon. The court announced that the man is being detained, suspected on probable grounds of two counts of aggravated violations of the Flammable and Explosive Goods Act.
The 20-year-old's lawyer stated in January that he denies the charges.
A 37-year-old man from Skellefteå has already been detained in connection with the same case, also suspected of a serious violation of the Act on Flammable and Explosive Goods.
In December, the national bomb squad was called to a residence in central Skellefteå after police discovered suspected explosive devices.
– A number of objects that are considered explosive have been secured, Thomas Palmgren said at the time.
