The case is being investigated by the serious crimes unit, with Anna Väppling as the lead prosecutor.
– Seven people are currently in custody. We are maintaining an open mind, and the detained individuals have been interviewed initially, she told Norrbottens-Kuriren.
According to Väppling, none of the seven individuals have admitted to the murder.
The suspects in custody include six men and one woman, all believed to be involved in the man's death. During the initial interviews, the detained individuals were informed of the suspicions against them. The court has subsequently appointed defense lawyers for all of them.
– Now that everyone has legal representation, we can begin questioning them, prosecutor Anna Väppling told the newspaper.
All of those detained were previously known to the police.
The police are also investigating a possible connection between the murder and a car fire that occurred on the night of the crime.
