It was on Monday evening that some visitors discovered that tiles had started to loosen at the bottom of the shallow part of the large pool at the bathhouse in Burträsk. It is about five to ten tiles that have come loose and five of them are completely loose.
– This is the first time in 15 years that I have see anything like this, says swimming manager, Jessica Söderlund who continues:
– One of the customers cut themselves on the loose tiles but it was not too serious.
Today, Wednesday, they are emptying the pool to dry it up so that the damage can be assessed.
– We were a little surprised when we saw how big the hole was. We had to get closer to see what it really looked like. You can't always see underwater. Next week, someone will come and look at it, she says.
För Burträsk badhus är det här högsäsong med tanke på att det just nu är sportlov.
–This being sportlov week means this is not the best time for us to close. But it's nothing we can control, she notes.
The swimming pool will be closed until further notice, but the gym, group training, shower and sauna facilities are open as usual.
