A man, confirmed as being Salwan Momika, was fatally shot in an apartment in Södertälje on Wednesday evening. Police have confirmed the death and launched a murder investigation.
Prosecutor Rasmus Öman, who was recently assigned to the case, confirmed to TT that several arrests have been made in connection with the murder investigation.

Police received reports of a suspected shooting at 11:11 PM Wednesday. The incident occurred inside an apartment in a residential building in the Hovsjö area.
Reports suggest the shooting was broadcast live on Tiktok.
– We have received these reports and will investigate them, said police spokesperson Nadya Norton.
The victim was identified as Salwan Momika, who was facing charges of incitement to hatred for burning copies of the Koran in summer 2023. Momika had also expressed support for the far-right Sweden Democrats party. His verdict was scheduled for Thursday but has now been abandoned.

"The verdict must be adjusted since one of the defendants has been confirmed deceased, as a dead person cannot be convicted," the Stockholm District Court announced on its website.
The Koran burnings in question had sparked riots and unrest in Sweden and led to significant political repercussions.
