The road surface collapsed on Thursday.
Kenneth Paldanius encountered a scary sight on Thursday lunchtime while driving back to Malå on route 1018 after visiting Adak.
– I saw the hole suddenly appear on the road, Paldanius explains.
– I managed to swerve around it, but the trench grew incredibly fast – it covered almost half the road within just over half an hour!
The road is closed until next week, said Trafikverket.
Trafikverket has issued a warning that the road is completely closed in both directions until Friday next week. The agency states in the warning that maintenance personnel are on their way to the scene.
"Choose another suitable route," writes Trafikverket.
